However, it can be hard to maintain a pretty bunch of curls, especially when it comes to untangling them. With natural remedies and a few tips, you can easily make them frizz-free and shiny. There are a lot of expensive products on the market, but trial and error could end up damaging your hair. In this article, we’ll tell you about some ingredients that are readily available at home that work wonders for curly hair.

1. Olive Oil and Avocado Hair Mask

Olive oil is full of omega-3 fatty acids. These acids play an essential role in hair growth, shine and strength. They are also rich in antioxidants, which help fight free radicals responsible for hair aging.1

Avocado provides amino acids and proteins that help stimulate the hair production process. It also moisturizes dry hair and soothes dry scalp. This mask is a must for dry and damaged hair.

Ingredients:

1 ripe avocado, crushed

2 tablespoons of olive oil

Add 2 tablespoons of honey for extra hydration.

Instructions:

Mix ingredients together and apply in small sections to cleanse damp hair. Cover hair with a shower cap for 30-60 minutes. Shampoo and condition as usual.

2. Hair mask with egg, mayonnaise, olive oil and honey

Mayonnaise is not just for sandwiches. The lipids in mayonnaise help hair absorb moisture and fatty acids, nourishing the hair follicles. Olive oil and honey provide antioxidant and moisturizing benefits. And egg proteins help strengthen hair2.

It’s a great mask for curly hair. It provides the moisture needed to keep frizz at bay without weighing hair down.

Ingredients:

1 egg

3. Coconut oil and honey hair mask

This mask is particularly useful for people with fine to medium hair. Coconut oil helps protect the natural proteins in the hair. This is especially beneficial for those who lack protein in their hair follicles.3 The vitamin E in coconut oil provides antioxidant benefits. And lauric acid helps the emollient properties of honey penetrate deep into the hair shaft.4

2 to 4 tablespoons of coconut oil

1 tablespoon of honey
