Everyone wants to get soft and luscious lips that won’t look dead dry, especially in cold environments or weather. The skin on your lips is sensitive compared to the rest of your skin, and it is likely to fall victim to a harsh lifestyle like the sun and other severe weather conditions. To pay some attention to it, why not provide it with some proper nourishment that they need, especially if you are suffering from peeling, dry, or chapped lips. You may have bought a lip balm from the market, and it does not quite match your sensitive lips, so why not prepare your lip balm at home itself with some regular ingredients. You can also gift them to someone if you lack gift ideas.

Here are five DIY lip balm that you can try at home!

1. Lavender Lip Balm.

The presence of lavender essential oil in the lip balm will give your lips a heavenly taste. It will also feel soft on your lips.

Ingredients

4 tablespoons almond, olive, or jojoba oil
1 tablespoon grated beeswax
1 teaspoon honey
7 drops of lavender essential oil
¼ teaspoon vitamin E oil (you can do this by squeezing out a vitamin E capsule)
½ teaspoon colored lipstick (this is for a splash of color)
1 teaspoon cocoa powder

Method

Heat the oil (whichever one you choose) and the beeswax in a small stainless steel bowl. Make sure you heat it on very low heat. Stir until the beeswax is melted and whisk in the essential oil, colored lipstick, cocoa powder, and vitamin E. Place the small bowl with the bottom in a pan of ice water. Continue to whisk the mixture while adding the honey. Once the honey is mixed in, transfer the mixture to a lip balm container or tube. Let it set in the refrigerator for 3 hours. Your lip balm is ready.

2. Coconut and beeswax lip balm

This lip balm gives you that fresh coconut taste and a shiny sheen on your lips, thanks to the beeswax. Beeswax also moisturizes your lips.

Ingredients

1 tablespoon extra virgin coconut oil
1 tablespoon grated beeswax
A dash of organic honey
2 Vitamin E capsules (squeeze the oil out of these capsules)

Method

Heat the beeswax in a stainless steel bowl until it melts. When the beeswax is half melted, add the honey and coconut oil. Mix all the ingredients well. Pour in the Vitamin E oil. When the mixture has cooled, transfer it to a can or lip balm container and place it in the refrigerator. Apply whenever your lips feel dry.
